Fiorentina coach Vanoli discusses tactical shifts ahead of Inter match

Fiorentina manager Paolo Vanoli has addressed the possibility of switching to a three-man defense ahead of an upcoming match against Inter Milan. During a press conference, Vanoli noted that while he believes a four-man defense is the standard for international-level football, a three-man system remains a viable option during the build-up phase. He emphasized that the team possesses suitable defenders for such a transition, despite current squad depth concerns.

Regarding the match at San Siro, Vanoli acknowledged the strength of Inter Milan, noting their recent performance in the Champions League and their ability to stage comebacks. He stated that while a victory is the goal, the team must avoid presumption and deliver a near-perfect defensive performance to succeed. Vanoli also touched upon player positioning, mentioning that while he currently envisions Jimenez playing on the right, tactical flexibility remains a priority.
