Fiorentina cuts ties with coach Paolo Vanoli, criticising director Fabio Paratici

Fiorentina officially announced the termination of its contract with head coach Paolo Vanoli. Vanoli had been appointed after the team earned just four points in eleven matches without a win, but subsequently collected 36 points in the next seventeen games, a club record that helped avoid relegation.

Italian journalist Maurizio Pistocchi used the club’s statement to denounce director Fabio Paratici, calling him the “chef” behind the decision and accusing him of “amichettismo” (favoritism). Pistocchi quoted Paratici’s earlier remarks that “Vanoli is the best coach we have at the moment” and noted that Paratici had previously contacted agent Riso regarding the coach.

The criticism highlights internal tensions within Fiorentina’s hierarchy as the club moves forward without Vanoli.
