Fiorentina marks 100‑year anniversary with commemorative stamp and historic match recollection

On 22 July 2026 Fiorentina unveiled a limited‑edition commemorative stamp to celebrate its centenary (the club was founded on 29 August 1926). The stamp, showing the iconic purple shirt, the lily emblem and the club name with “100”, was issued in a run of 300,015 copies. The ceremony took place at the Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park in Bagno a Ripoli and was attended by local officials, former captain Dario Dainelli and defender Fabiano Parisi, who, despite being out with injury, thanked the club, calling the stamp a “special honour”.

The centenary celebrations also recall the exhibition match held on 9 September 1959, organised by the newspaper La Nazione, when Fiorentina faced Real Madrid. The game was presented as a tribute to the club’s 100‑year milestone and ended in a 2‑0 Fiorentina win, with goals from Miguel Montuori, providing a memorable revenge for the 1957 European Cup final loss. The match remains a celebrated part of the club’s history.
