Fiorentina marks seven years under Commisso family ownership

On 6 June 2019 Rocco Commisso, the Italian‑American media entrepreneur, bought Serie A club ACF Fiorentina from the Della Valle family. Over the next seven seasons the Commisso family has poured more than €500 million into the club, funding player transfers, the modern Viola Park training centre and a partial stadium remodel.

The period has seen eight different head coaches, three consecutive qualifications for European competition and three domestic cup finals, though no trophy was secured. It was also marked by two major losses: the death of club director Joe Barone in 2024 and the passing of Rocco Commisso in January 2024. Leadership passed to his son Giuseppe Commisso, who now serves as president and has appointed former international defender Fabio Paratici as sporting director. Fabio Grosso has been named the new head coach for the upcoming season.

The 2024‑25 campaign produced a club‑record 65 points and a sixth‑place finish, but the team ended the season in 15th place after a coaching change. As the club approaches its centenary celebrations on 29 August, fans hope the new management will translate the heavy investment into greater on‑field success.
