Fiorentina parts ways with coach Paolo Vanoli

ACF Fiorentina officially announced that head coach Paolo Vanoli will leave the club after steering the team clear of relegation despite a winless start to the Serie A season. Vanoli took over in mid‑November 2025, replacing the dismissed Stefano Pioli when the club had recorded only four draws in the first ten matches. Under his guidance the side became the first in history to avoid the drop without winning any of its first 15 games.

The club thanked Vanoli and his staff, stating: “The owners, management and everyone at Fiorentina would like to thank Mr Paolo Vanoli and his entire staff for their professionalism, passion and courage.” No new contract was offered, and Fiorentina is reportedly targeting former Sassuolo boss Fabio Grosso as the next head coach.

Grosso led Sassuolo to promotion from Serie B and later consolidated its position in the top flight, making him a favored candidate to succeed Vanoli.
