Fiorentina plots midfield overhaul as transfer market looms

Fiorentina’s sporting director Fabio Paratici says the midfield is already numerically complete, but the club intends to add one or two players to improve quality ahead of the new season. Existing midfielders Riccardo Fagioli and Mohamed Ndour are expected to stay, while the futures of Mandragora, Fazzini and Fabbian remain uncertain. The club is also scouting a player with the profile of Ismael Kone, likely from abroad, to boost the midfield’s physicality.

At the same time, Fiorentina must consider possible departures. Striker Moise Kean, whose contract includes a €4.5 million salary and a €62 million release clause, is a potential exit, as are goalkeeper David De Gea and other squad members such as Gustavo Sá, Viery, and Dodo Fortini. Financial constraints and contract expiries are driving the club’s assessment of which players can be sold or released to balance the wage bill.
