Fiorentina pursues Real Madrid youth defender Victor Valdepeñas

Italian club Fiorentina is actively negotiating with Real Madrid to acquire 17‑year‑old defender Victor Valdepeñas. The Italian side has offered a future‑sale percentage on the player, allowing Madrid to retain a financial interest. Real Madrid, however, wants to keep Valdepeñas for at least the first part of their summer training camp, citing concerns about injury risk and the possibility that manager José Mourinho may promote him to the first team.

Fiorentina’s interest extends beyond Valdepeñas. The club has also inquired about 16‑year‑old midfielder Thiago Pitarch, dubbed the “new Nico Paz,” who has already featured for Spain’s senior side and in the Champions League. No formal offers have been made for either player, and Fiorentina remains cautious while other clubs, including Bologna, have also shown interest in Valdepeñas.
