Fiorentina appoints Paolo Vanoli as manager

Paolo Vanoli has returned to manage Fiorentina following the dismissal of Paolo Grosso. In his first match back, the team secured a 4-2 victory against Venezia, with goals scored by Franco Mastantuono (3) and Mateo Pellegrino.

Vanoli has introduced a tactical shift, emphasizing a compact and aggressive identity. During the match against Venezia, the team utilized a strategy of low possession (37.4%) to focus on attacking spaces and rapid vertical transitions. Despite the win, Vanoli noted that while the squad is talented, significant work is required to build a strong, cohesive team and that young players will need time to develop.

Upcoming challenges for the club include a derby against Pisa and a match against Napoli, which will be critical for establishing stability before the international break.
