Fiorentina signs French midfielder Arthur Atta for €30 million

Fiorentina have completed the permanent signing of 23‑year‑old French midfielder Arthur Atta from Udinese. The deal is reported at €27 million plus €5 million in bonuses, with Udinese retaining a 30 % sell‑on clause. Atta signed a five‑year contract and will join the Viola under coach Fabio Grosso and sporting director Fabio Paratici.

Atta, born in Rennes, previously played for Metz before moving to Udinese, where he made 36 appearances, scoring six goals and providing four assists in all competitions last season. He said he is "very happy" to join Florence and aims to compete for a place in the French national team. Former Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano D’Agostino noted that the player "could have aimed higher" and suggested he might even suit a club like Inter.

In the same transfer window Fiorentina also secured the loan of 21‑year‑old Spanish left‑back Alex Jiménez from Bournemouth (formerly a Milan youth product). The loan includes an option to buy for around €20 million, with Bournemouth keeping a 30 % future resale share. Jiménez, whose contract runs until June 2031 if made permanent, is expected to strengthen the club’s left flank.

Both acquisitions are part of Fiorentina’s effort to rebuild after a disappointing 15th‑place Serie A finish, targeting a younger, more dynamic squad for the upcoming season.
