Fiorentina target Juventus winger Zhegrova as squad depth raises concerns

Italian Serie A club Fiorentina, now coached by former defender Fabio Grosso, is preparing to make a bid for Kosovo winger Edon Zhegrova. Zhegrova joined Juventus last summer for around €15 million but has seen limited playing time under Luciano Spalletti, appearing mainly as a substitute. Fiorentina sees him as a potential replacement for Cristian Volpato and an upgrade to their flanking options.

The club has already invested in a record €15 million signing of Brazilian defender Viery from Gremio and boasts a roster of 47 contracted players. Despite the large squad, Fiorentina lacks depth on the wings, with only two wide‑players—Riccardo Sottil and Filippo Distefano—still in the technical plans. Many other players are expected to leave over the summer, leaving the club eager to secure Zhegrova, whose contract runs until 2030 and includes a €2.5 million per‑year salary, making any transfer financially complex.
