Fiorentina's Fabio Paratici outlines long‑term project and transfer plan

Sporting director Fabio Paratici said the club’s ownership is solid and committed to building a competitive, sustainable Fiorentina that can challenge for European places. He emphasized a long‑term vision that prioritises squad stability, a reduced wage bill and the integration of youth prospects while remaining flexible in the transfer market.

Paratici listed potential summer targets such as Ruggeri, Udogie, Norton‑Cuffy, Dragusin and Kristian Thorstvedt, and noted the need to off‑load surplus players, loan returns and expiring contracts. He also highlighted the importance of retaining key figures like Kean and the roles of newcomers Dodô and Grosso.

Beyond Fiorentina, Paratici criticised the broader Italian football system, blaming the governing class for insufficient youth coach education and a lack of secondary‑team structures compared with Spain, the Netherlands and England. He called for deeper reforms to improve player development and restore Italy’s historic success at youth level.
