Fiorentina's Paratici faces youth sector criticism as club begins full rebuild

Former Fiorentina sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco criticised the club’s handling of youth player Fortini, calling the sale of home‑grown talent a waste and highlighting contradictions in renewing contracts for players ready for the first team. He suggested the youth sector’s purpose is undermined when promising players are quickly let go.

Journalist Alessandro Bocci noted that new technical director Fabio Paratici was sincere about the need for time to overhaul Fiorentina. He described the club as entering a “year zero” of a total restructuring, emphasizing limited financial resources, a focus on developing inexpensive talent, and the importance of securing sponsorship to offset reduced match‑day revenues.
