Fioretta Mari to perform Jean Genet’s Le serve in Catania
Actress Fioretta Mari, alongside Nadia De Luca and Francesca Ferro, will perform Jean Genet’s play “Le serve” at the Teatro Abc in Catania from November 7 to 22, 2026. Directed by Guglielmo Ferro with Giampaolo Romania as collaborating director, the production is based on a translation by Giorgio Caproni and produced by the Associazione culturale Progetto Teatrando.
The play explores themes of power, identity, and social hierarchy through the story of two maids, Claire and Solange, who engage in a ritual of imitating their mistress in her absence. This psychological drama, inspired by the Papin sisters case, depicts a descent from role-playing into a tragic blurring of reality and fiction.
A public meeting with the actresses is scheduled for November 13 at 18:30 as part of the “Sotto a chi Talk in Tribuna” format, moderated by Eduardo Saitta. Participation for this event is free and requires reservation via email.
