Fire at Government Building Under Construction in Gaziantep, Turkey
A fire broke out on the roof of a new government building under construction in the Ertuğrul Gazi neighbourhood of Gaziantep’s Şahinbey district. The blaze started after an apparent fault in the heating and cooling systems ignited insulation and technical materials.
Local residents noticed thick smoke and panic spread, prompting a 112 emergency call. Firefighters and police responded quickly, climbing to the roof to extinguish the flames before they could spread to other floors. The incident caused material damage to the roof but resulted in no injuries or fatalities. Authorities have opened a technical investigation and said safety measures at the construction site will be reviewed.
