Fire breaks out at home of Alagoas murder suspect in São Miguel dos Campos

A house belonging to a man accused of killing his former father‑in‑law and attempting to murder his ex‑partner and her mother caught fire on the afternoon of 24 June in São Miguel dos Campos, Alagoas. Firefighters arrived with three crew members and extinguished the small blaze with water. Police have not yet determined the cause of the fire and are investigating whether it is related to the earlier homicide case.

The suspect had previously broken into the ex‑partner’s residence, opening fire that killed the 68‑year‑old father‑in‑law, injured the mother and daughter, and left the woman in critical condition. He was arrested after the attack and is detained pending further legal action.
