Fire damages Dinosaur Park in San Marco in Lamis

A fire broke out in the Borgo Celano district of San Marco in Lamis, in the province of Foggia, damaging the Parco dei Dinosauri. The blaze, which was fueled by strong winds, originated from a canal near a social housing area.

While the fire destroyed fences and directional signage along the park's paths, the dinosaur sculptures themselves were not damaged, reportedly acting as a windbreak for the flames. Tourists visiting the site at the time were evacuated by staff. Firefighters, civil protection volunteers, and local Mayor Michele Merla responded to the scene to contain the fire, which has since been brought under control.
