Fire damages former Abbeville Skating Rink in Louisiana

A structure fire damaged the former Abbeville Skating Rink on John Hardy Drive on Wednesday morning. The Abbeville Fire Department responded to the scene, receiving assistance from the Erath, Meaux-Nunez, Maurice, and 7th Ward Fire Departments.

The Abbeville Police Department assisted with equipment access, while Acadian Ambulance remained on standby to treat firefighters for potential heat exhaustion due to high temperatures. The Louisiana Fire Marshal's Office has been called to the scene, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
