Fire departments in Chile expand services and celebrate traditions

In Calama, Chile, a new fire department unit named ‘Bomba Oriente – Río Loa’ has been officially founded. The Seventh Company aims to strengthen emergency response in the eastern sector of the city, the Alto El Loa area, and the commune of Ollagüe. A key objective is to reduce response times to Ollagüe, where travel currently takes approximately three hours. The new headquarters will be located on land provided by Codelco Distrito Norte.

In Santiago, the 10th and 17th Companies of the Santiago Fire Department (CBS) held a commemorative luncheon to honor the legacy of Julio Pau Rubio, a former Honorary Volunteer and the first Captain of the Los Cerrillos Brigade. The event, attended by over 100 volunteers and high-ranking officials, served to strengthen the fraternal ties and institutional traditions between the ‘Bomba España’ and ‘Bomba Los Cerrillos’ units.
