Fire destroys bakery factory in João Pessoa industrial district

A large-scale fire broke out at a bakery factory in the Industrial District of João Pessoa on Thursday afternoon. The blaze reportedly began around 3:00 PM, possibly originating in the frozen bread production line. Preliminary information suggests the fire may have been linked to welding services being performed by an outsourced maintenance team, though official investigations are ongoing.

The fire spread rapidly, affecting part of a nearby distribution center and causing a portion of the industrial warehouse structure to collapse. The Fire Department mobilized over 80 firefighters and 20 vehicles, including aerial platforms and drones, to combat the flames and manage the risk of explosions.

As of the latest reports, there have been no confirmed deaths or injuries. Emergency teams continue to work on cooling the perimeter and eliminating active fire pockets to allow forensic experts to begin their investigation.
