Fire destroys Brookdale Clinton senior living center
A major fire destroyed much of the Brookdale Clinton senior living center in Clinton, Mississippi, on Wednesday. The blaze forced the evacuation of more than 100 residents, many of whom have mobility issues.
While the majority of the building was destroyed and the roof partially collapsed, there were no immediate reports of injuries or confirmed casualties. Authorities continued to search the site into the night to ensure all residents were accounted for.
Displaced residents were bused to a local church, where family members gathered. Brookdale is reportedly making arrangements to relocate displaced residents to other company properties. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves and state emergency agencies are assisting with the response.
