Fire Destroys Stags Tavern in Germantown, Wisconsin

Early on August 4, a fire engulfed Stags Tavern on Fond du Lac Avenue in Germantown, Wisconsin. The blaze required an aggressive interior attack and, because no fire hydrants were nearby, water had to be shuttled in with tenders.

More than 50 firefighters from over a dozen departments, including the Germantown Fire Department, worked for several hours to extinguish the fire. The building suffered major fire and smoke damage and was declared a total loss. Two residents living above the tavern escaped safely, and no injuries to fire personnel were reported. The cause remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal. The tavern’s owner posted a message thanking the community for its support and expressing gratitude that everyone was safe.
