Fire destroys timber depot and huts in Kukatpally, India

A fire broke out late Thursday night, October 22, at a timber depot near the Sitarama Temple in the Harijan Seva Sangham Colony of Kukatpally, Telangana. The blaze quickly spread from the depot to several nearby huts, destroying homes and belongings.

Fire department officials reported that five fire engines from the Jubilee Hills, Jeedimetla, and Annapurna stations were deployed to combat the flames. While one report indicated no casualties, another stated that two people were injured and taken to a hospital.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Officials suspect the blaze may have started after individuals lit firewood outside the depot to create smoke for mosquito control.
