Attendorn and Bad Hersfeld experience separate fires in Germany
In Attendorn, two residential fires occurred within an hour on 27 July 2026. The first blaze began in a heating‑room cable in Neu‑Listernohl and was extinguished after the power was cut, causing no injuries. Responding units included the Attendorn fire brigade, Ihnetal, Ennest, the Mubea industrial fire brigade, the Olpe rescue service, the DRK and police. The second incident was a small kitchen fire on Schmiedestraße, quickly put out by the resident, also with no injuries.
Near Bad Hersfeld, a forest fire broke out on 26 July 2026 close to the L3159 road at the Langen Heide area. Dry, hot conditions led to a spontaneous self‑ignition, burning an area of roughly 30 × 50 m. The Bad Hersfeld fire department, aided by units from Asbach, Kirchheim and a tank fire‑engine, along with Hessenforst forestry staff, contained the fire without any reported injuries.
