Fire emergencies reported in Neuquén and Jockey Plaza

Two separate fire incidents occurred during the early hours of Thursday, October 22.

In Neuquén, Argentina, a fire broke out after 4:00 a.m. in a residential complex in the La Sirena neighborhood. The blaze completely destroyed one apartment, resulting in total loss of belongings for the tenant, who was treated at a health center for smoke inhalation. An adjacent house also sustained damage, though the fire did not spread further. The cause of the Neuquén fire remains unknown.

In Lima, Peru, a fire affected approximately 600 square meters of the Jockey Plaza shopping center in Surco. The emergency, which began around 12:20 a.m., prompted the evacuation of workers and the deployment of 14 volunteer firefighter units. Administration officials stated the fire originated in an empty commercial space during dismantling work involving welding by contractors. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and firefighters prevented the flames from reaching a nearby service station.
