Fire Engulfs DNS Warehouse in Vladivostok, Russia

On the morning of 31 July, a large fire broke out at a DNS consumer‑electronics warehouse on Dneprovskaya Street in Vladivostok, Russia. The blaze quickly spread from an initial 1,000 sq m to roughly 5,000 sq m, producing dense black smoke that drifted over nearby districts and blocked key road arteries.

More than 44 firefighters and ten specialist units from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were deployed. Strong winds, low water pressure in nearby hydrants and the need to transport water from tanker trucks complicated the operation. As of 04:00 BGT (11:00 local time) the fire was still being fought, but no injuries were reported. Sanitary authorities (Rospotrebnadzor) began continuous air‑quality monitoring, and the local prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into fire‑safety compliance at the site.
