Fire erupts on Kênh 19‑5 in Ho Chi Minh City, damaging house and plastic factory

On the morning of 27 July 2026, two separate fires broke out along Kênh 19‑5 in Tây Thạnh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. A residential house caught fire, causing damage to the metal‑frame structure and loss of personal belongings, but no injuries were reported. Shortly thereafter, a nearby plastic‑manufacturing workshop ignited, producing a tall black plume of smoke and prompting nearby residents to flee the area.

Fire‑fighting units from the city police and the fire‑rescue service responded quickly to both incidents, ultimately containing and extinguishing the blazes. Authorities are investigating the causes, with early reports suggesting the plastic‑factory fire may have started from the burning of waste material.
