The fire brigade in Kerpen responded to a blaze that broke out in a waste‑disposal facility hall. The sprinkler system activated automatically, allowing firefighters to quickly identify the affected area and extinguish the fire under breathing protection. Additional units from nearby districts assisted, and the fire was contained without the need for a public warning.

In Dortmund, several vehicles caught fire on a parking lot near an automobile showroom. Two cars and a van were fully engulfed, prompting an elevated alarm and the deployment of about 25 fire and rescue personnel. Crews fought the flames with two hoses and protective gear, preventing the fire from reaching an adjacent residential building. The cause remains under investigation and no injuries were reported.
