Fire incidents reported at Panama marina and Repsol refinery in Spain
Two separate fire incidents occurred in Panama and Spain. In Amador, Ancón, firefighters responded to a blaze at the Flamenco Marina pier on Saturday night, October 24, 2026. The Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos de la República de Panamá deployed five vehicles to extinguish the fire, which affected two vessels. While the incident caused material damage to the boats, no injuries were reported. The National Directorate of Security, Prevention, and Fire Investigation (DINASEPI) is investigating the cause.
In Cartagena, Spain, a fire occurred at a Repsol refinery during the activation phase of a unit. The facility's internal emergency brigade managed the situation using onsite resources, such as foam and cooling water, without requiring external assistance from public fire services. Although flames were visible to nearby residents, the company confirmed the situation was controlled and no persons were affected.
