Apartment fire in Buenos Aires occurs next to Cristina Kirchner's residence

A significant fire broke out on Friday afternoon in an apartment building located on San José street in the Constitución neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The fire specifically affected the third floor of the building at San José 1121, which is directly adjacent to the residence where former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is currently serving house arrest.

Emergency services, including the City Fire Department and SAME, responded to the scene. Approximately 30 residents were evacuated from the affected building as a precaution. Two elderly residents—a woman aged 80 and a man aged 82—were transported to Hospital Penna after suffering significant smoke inhalation.

While the flames caused heavy damage to the third-floor apartments and smoke spread to upper levels, the fire did not reach the building where Kirchner resides. Authorities and forensic experts are investigating the cause of the blaze.
