Fire services respond to separate incidents in Buchkirchen and Scheibbs

Multiple fire incidents occurred in Austria on Sunday. In Buchkirchen, seven fire departments responded to a large fire involving a pile of wood. Emergency crews utilized long water supply lines and a crane with a gripper to extinguish the flames and clear the debris. Authorities successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby trees, and police are investigating the cause. The L1228 Mistelbacher Straße was closed for several hours during the operation.

In Scheibbs, a fire involving several trash bins in a residential area led to a gas leak after a pipe melted. The incident required the intervention of four fire departments and technicians from EVN to repair the leak. As a safety precaution, the helicopter landing pad at the nearby Scheibbs Clinic was temporarily closed, and local residents were advised to keep their windows shut. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
