Fire truck crashes into home in Villa Clara, Cuba

A firefighting tanker from the Placetas Fire Department Command 6 collided with a residential home on the Central Highway in Villa Clara province on Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle was en route to respond to an emergency in the Benito Juárez area when the accident occurred.

The collision caused severe structural damage to the house, with the truck becoming embedded in the building's facade. The driver sustained serious injuries, including an open skull contusion, and was transferred from the Daniel Codorníu Pruna Hospital in Placetas to the Neurosurgery Department at the Arnaldo Milián Castro Hospital in Santa Clara. His medical prognosis remains reserved.

While the exact cause is under investigation, witnesses suggested a potential failure in the hydraulic brake system. Authorities are currently assessing the scene and the extent of the property damage.
