Fireboy DML recalls early fears after relocating to Lagos

Afrobeats singer Fireboy DML, born Adedamola Adefolahan, has shared recollections of his initial experiences after relocating to Lagos in 2016 to pursue a music career.

During a recent livestream, the singer described being terrified by his first two weeks in the Surulere area. He reported witnessing individuals experiencing mental health crises, seeing dead bodies on the streets, and encountering cultists. He also noted that the appearance of some residents contributed to his fear at the time.

Despite these early challenges, Fireboy stated that he adapted to the city's lifestyle and continued his musical journey, eventually signing with YBNL Nation in 2018. He also addressed a recent incident where an Instagram story featuring him with a cigarette caused concern among his family members, explaining it was intended as part of a showbiz presentation.
