Firefighter Mauro Alves dos Santos in armed dispute with Military Police officer at Águas Claras gym

On July 18, 2026, security cameras captured a dispute inside a gym in Águas Claras, Federal District, Brazil. Firefighter Mauro Alves dos Santos, 48, removed a firearm from an arm‑locker, placed it on his waist and confronted Military Police officer Luis Fernando Andrade de Oliveira, 43. Witnesses reported the firefighter threatened the officer, saying he would “take him in a fight” ("iria pegá‑lo na porrada").

The firefighter denied making any threat, claiming he felt threatened by the officer, only displayed the weapon and the argument ended after the gym manager intervened. The Police Civil opened a Termo Circunstanciado, and the officer has expressed intent to press criminal charges against the firefighter.
