Firefighter Nicoletta Raggi rescues autistic teenager in Macerata

Nicoletta Raggi, a 32-year-old firefighter with the Macerata provincial command, successfully rescued a 17-year-old boy with autism who had wandered away from his home in Villa Potenza.

After the teenager fled following a family argument, Raggi coordinated the search by consulting with a psychotherapist and the boy's sister to understand his habits. She located him on a familiar route and used a sensitive, low-pressure approach to establish trust. Following approximately thirty minutes of dialogue, the teenager agreed to return home safely.

Rosa Piermattei, the Mayor of San Severino Marche, praised Raggi for her professional preparation, courage, and empathy, noting that her quick actions prevented a potential tragedy. The Mayor plans to meet Raggi at the municipal headquarters to personally commend her service.
