Firefighter recruitment contests announced in Pernambuco and Alagoas
The state of Pernambuco has opened a public competition for its Military Fire Brigade, offering positions for soldiers and officers. Candidates must meet education, age, height and driver’s‑license requirements, and will undergo a series of assessments including objective and essay exams, medical and psychological evaluations, a physical‑aptitude test, social investigation and a training course. Initial salaries are R$3,419.88 for soldiers and R$10,855.91 for officers.
Alagoas announced its 2026 firefighter competition with more than 300 vacancies – 172 immediate and 172 reserve – for the roles of Officer, Combatant Soldier and Motomechanization Soldier, all requiring a high‑school level. Salaries range from R$6,067.53 to R$11,563.77. Registrations close on 21 July with a R$150 fee, and the written test is set for 11 October. The Physical Aptitude Test (TAF) will be held in Maceió over three days, covering pull‑ups, push‑ups, abdominal repetitions, a 1,600‑meter run and a 50‑meter swim, with specific minimum standards and a mandatory cardiology medical report.
