Firefighters Contain Garage and Barn Fires in Hesse, Germany

On Saturday evening, the fire brigade in Hauneck‑Unterhaun responded to a garage fire that threatened a nearby residential building. About 50 firefighters, including units from Bad Hersfeld, tackled the blaze, used foam to prevent re‑ignition and successfully protected the house. The resident was evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.

The following day, a barn fire in Bad Brückenau was brought under control by roughly 50 volunteer firefighters from the local districts. A hay loft ignited, but rapid intervention with breathing equipment limited the blaze and prevented it from spreading to adjacent structures. After extinguishing the fire, crews performed extensive after‑burn work to clear remaining embers. No one was harmed in this incident either.
