Firefighters extinguish house fire in Querência and building blaze in Florianópolis

The blaze was likely caused by a short‑circuit involving an air‑conditioner. Two fire engines arrived quickly, contained the flames before they spread, and no injuries were reported. In Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, firefighters were called early Monday to a building where a fire started in an air‑conditioner unit in an apartment. Seven firefighters and two fire trucks evacuated occupants, controlled the smoke, and limited damage to the bedroom containing the equipment. No occupants were present at the time, and no injuries occurred. The cause will be investigated by fire inspectors.
