Wildlife rescues and emergency responses reported across Brazil

Firefighters across various Brazilian regions have conducted several wildlife rescues and emergency responses. In Alta Floresta, Mato Grosso, the Military Fire Brigade rescued a red macaw that was unable to fly and a sloth found in an urban area. The macaw was sent to the State Secretariat of Environment (Sema) for evaluation, while the healthy sloth was returned to its natural habitat.

Other notable animal rescues include a tortoise in Corumbá, which was freed from a bicycle wheel, and a giant anteater found in a dairy facility in Pires do Rio, Goiás. In Iranduba, Amazonas, firefighters successfully resuscitated a wild rodent found unconscious following forest fires.

In addition to wildlife interventions, emergency services responded to a major vehicle fire on the BR-354 highway in Formiga, Minas Gerais, where a truck carrying tires was destroyed, requiring two days of work to extinguish the flames.
