Firefighters robbed during emergency response in Palermo

Firefighters in the Cep neighborhood of Palermo were surrounded and robbed of essential equipment while responding to a fire involving waste piles on via Filippo Paladino.

A group of youths on scooters reportedly surrounded the emergency vehicles, circling the water tankers at high speeds to create distraction and chaos. During the confusion, some individuals managed to open the compartments of the rescue vehicles and steal vital work tools.

The Carabinieri have launched an investigation into the incident, reviewing witness testimonies and local surveillance footage to identify those responsible. Labor unions, including Cisl Palermo Trapani, have condemned the act as “unacceptable and absurd,” expressing solidarity with the Boccadifalco detachment crew.
