Firefighting services enhance training and international cooperation

In Italy, the Province of Novara has launched an operational project to support and train volunteer firefighters. The initiative, which has seen 85% of local municipalities join, aims to recruit new personnel and provide specialized training for existing volunteers. The provincial command will manage the training courses, logistics, and necessary medical examinations, supported by funding from the Province and participating municipalities.

Separately, a long-standing international collaboration between Italian and Paraguayan firefighters has been renewed. Firefighters from the Reggio Emilia province and the Cuerpo de Bomberos Voluntarios de Paraguarí are conducting joint technical rescue exercises at Pietra di Bismantova. This biennial training has continued for 19 years. To formalize their relationship, the cities of Scandiano and Paraguarí signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in areas including civil protection, health, education, and culture.
