In Bosnia and Herzegovina, volunteer firefighters in Vogošća are facing challenges including aging equipment and personnel shortages. The Volunteer Firefighting Society (DVD) Vogošća, which consists of 35 members, provides critical support to professional units. Last year, the society recorded 53 interventions, including 18 fires and 35 technical rescues. The group maintains specialized units for search and rescue, including teams with dogs and water rescue capabilities.

In Croatia, the Public Firefighting Unit (JVP) of Virovitica has donated a Unimog U500 special vehicle to the Volunteer Firefighting Society (DVD) Voćin. The vehicle is specifically designed for fighting open-space fires in difficult, hilly, and forested terrain. The donation was initiated by the Virovitica-Podravina County Firefighting Community to strengthen the operational capacity of volunteer units across the region. The Unimog U500 is equipped with a high-capacity water tank and a high-pressure pump.
