Firefighting services report cultural events in Chile and forest fires in Colombia

In Santiago, Chile, the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago (CBS) held a monthly cultural event at its headquarters on September 26, 2026. The CBS Instrumental Band, directed by Óscar Almazán, performed ten popular tracks and marches for the public at the Santiago Firefighters Museum (MuBo). Additionally, a delegation from the Machalí Fire Department visited the headquarters to tour the facilities and learn about the institution's history.

In Bogotá, Colombia, the Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos Bogotá responded to a fire reported in the Cerros Orientales, specifically in the Las Moyas sector of the Chapinero locality. Emergency units from the Chapinero, Ferias, and Caobos stations deployed 20 firefighters and six vehicles to the scene. Authorities utilized unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to survey the area and identify access routes through the terrain. The incident occurred amid high temperatures associated with the El Niño phenomenon.
