Firefighting teams compete in annual Cluster Weert competition

Firefighting teams within the Cluster Weert region, including the Trespa industrial fire brigade, participated in an annual competition day involving various emergency response scenarios. The event featured diverse training exercises organized by different stations across several locations.

Scenarios included a simulated squatting situation at the former Maartenshuis in Weert involving roof rescues, a vehicle collision in Stramproy requiring victim extrication, and a battery fire in a residence in Nederweert. In Meijel, teams practiced responding to a fire in a healthcare facility where misinformation from a resident initially complicated the response. Another exercise in Roggel involved a malfunctioning windmill.

The competition concluded with an awards ceremony where the team from Roggel secured first place, followed by Heythuysen in second and Kelpen-Oler in third.
