Firefox maintains 203 million monthly active users

Firefox maintains a significant presence in the web browser market, recording over 203 million monthly active users as of June 2026. Despite holding a global market share of 3.63%, the browser is notable because it is not pre-installed by default on any major operating system or platform.

Unlike Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Apple Safari, which benefit from being the default choice on Android, Windows, and iOS/macOS respectively, Firefox users are considered voluntary adopters who have actively chosen to download and install the software. The browser shows particularly strong resilience in Germany, where it holds an 11.82% market share, more than triple the global average.
