Firehouse Subs Italian sub ranks high in chain sandwich comparison

A ranking of seven popular chain Italian sub sandwiches identified Firehouse Subs’ Italian sub as a top performer, placing third overall. The sandwich features Genoa salami, pepperoni, honey ham, and provolone, served with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, deli mustard, and Italian seasoning.

In comparison, the Firehouse Subs version was noted for its balanced flavors and high protein content of 69 grams. While Subway’s 5-Meat Italian offered more protein at approximately 80 grams, it ranked last in the tasting due to a lack of flavor balance. Jimmy John’s Italian Night Club also fell behind Firehouse Subs, with reviewers noting an overreliance on mayonnaise that overshadowed other ingredients.
