Fires destroy agricultural hangars in Belgium and France

In Florennes, Belgium, two separate blazes broke out on the same day. One fire burned four hectares of crops on Rue d’Oret, while a second blaze completely destroyed an agricultural hangar, damaging machinery and equipment. Firefighters from the Dinaphi and Val de Sambre zones brought multiple pumps and water tanks to the scene and contained both incidents by late afternoon. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fires remains unknown.

In Lasséran, France, a fire ignited in a 600‑square‑metre farm building equipped with photovoltaic panels. The blaze consumed roughly 600 tonnes of stored straw, three tractors and a pick‑up truck, and also threatened a nearby grove. Around twenty firefighters responded, deploying high‑capacity pumps and foam trucks, and prevented the flames from spreading further. The incident caused extensive material loss but no casualties, and investigators have not yet identified the ignition source.
