Fires destroy homes and garages in New South Wales

Multiple fires have destroyed structures in New South Wales. In Rutherford, an early morning blaze on Aberglasslyn Road destroyed a house and a garage on October 13. The two occupants of the home escaped without injury. More than 26 emergency responders, including Fire and Rescue NSW and Rural Fire Service crews, worked to contain the fire and protect adjacent properties. One neighboring house sustained minor heat and fire damage.

In the Shoalhaven region, two separate fires occurred within hours of each other. A house on Penguins Head Road in Culburra Beach was destroyed on a Sunday evening. Shortly after, a fire broke out in a detached double garage on Scott Street in Shoalhaven Heads. The garage fire involved several explosions, but firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to nearby homes. Authorities are currently investigating the causes of these fires.
