Fires reported in central Guadalajara and Guanajuato

Two separate fires were reported in central areas of Mexican cities. In Guadalajara, a public transport bus on route 50 caught fire at the intersection of Pavo and Francisco I. Madero streets. The driver noticed smoke coming from the front of the vehicle and evacuated 14 passengers before the flames engulfed the unit. No injuries were reported, though firefighters noted a minor fuel spill at the scene. A mechanical failure is suspected as the preliminary cause.

In Guanajuato capital, a fire destroyed the popular taquería ‘El Paisa 2’ on Avenida Juárez during the early hours of Sunday, October 4. The blaze consumed the interior of the establishment, including furniture and equipment. Volunteer firefighters responded by cutting the electricity and removing two LP gas tanks to prevent further danger. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation by the Public Ministry.
