Spain experiences multiple separate fires in Madrid, Lugo, and Salamanca
Several separate fire incidents have been reported in Spain. In Madrid, a fire originating in the kitchen of the restaurant Oven Mozzarella on Gran Vía caused a significant column of smoke and forced authorities to close the street between Plaza de España and San Bernardo for several hours. No injuries were reported.
In Lugo, a fire destroyed the interior of the Antas restaurant in Praza do Campo. The flames originated in the false ceiling and caused heavy smoke, necessitating the evacuation of nearby terraces. While the historic building's wooden structure was a major concern for firefighters, residential units above the restaurant did not suffer serious structural damage.
Additionally, an active fire was reported near the A-66 highway in Salamanca, where five extinction means were deployed to control the flames and prevent further spread.
