Fires reported in Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Jerez
Two separate fires were reported in the province of Cádiz, Spain. In Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a fire completely destroyed a 100-square-meter shoe repair and locksmith shop on Don Román Street during the early hours of Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Firefighters identified the source of the blaze at a counter containing machinery and tools. While the shop was heavily damaged by heat and smoke, the residential units above the establishment were evacuated and suffered no damage.
In a separate incident in Jerez de la Frontera, a fire broke out in a kitchen on Santa María de Gracia Street during the early hours of Sunday, October 4, 2026. The fire produced heavy smoke that spread through the residence and common areas of the building. The resident evacuated the property safely before emergency services arrived. Firefighters from the Consorcio de Bomberos de la Provincia de Cádiz extinguished the flames and performed forced ventilation to clear the smoke.
